Eduserv Talks Science with the Science Museum

Talk Science website screengrab www.talkscience.org.uk is a new website we have developed for the National Science Museum. The site provides science teachers with information and resources about discussion based learning. And a place where teachers can share best practice and pool resource for teaching tools and lesson planning.

We built the site using Community Server 2008 which provides online community features such as forums, blogs, wikis, media galleries and Microsoft SharePoint to share and discuss documents.

The tools implemented provide an interactive site that has very user driven content. As well as the information provided by the Science Museum people can also upload their own videos of teaching techniques, discuss the subjects that matter to them and give feedback on the teaching methods suggested.

Dan Evans, Web Manager for National Science Museum, said: “The site is a success because it provides expert information and advice but also it is an online community where people with similar interests can share and discuss their information. We believe Eduserv has delivered a site that will not only be fun and useful for science teachers it will also provide vital information to engage students.”
