Eduserv regularly organises events for the education community we serve - as well as attending events as an exhibitor, sponsor or speaker. Here are just some of the events in the education, information and technology sectors which we have been involved with.
2009
COUP 2009 [Stand 45]
7-9 September
Royal Holloway, University of London
COUP (Conference On University Purchasing) is a national purchasing event in the Higher and Further Education sector and takes place every two years. The very first COUP was held in Scotland in 1977. Since then it has been hosted at different venues around the country, in each of the regionally purchasing consortia. COUP is open to all public sector organisations and the theme this year will be 'Developing and Sharing Procurement Excellence'

Institutional Web Management Workshop (IWMW) 2009
28-30 July
University of Essex, Colchester Campus
Workshop event to provide professional development for web managers, policy makers, developers, designers and information professionals related to the UK's higher and further education communities.
Andy Powell and Ed Barker, Eduserv, “Care in the community….. how do you manage your web content?”
Wednesday 29th July 2009 - 15:30-17:00
The chance to discuss the findings of the current "Investigation into the management of website content in higher education institutions" study, funded by Eduserv and being undertaken by the Social Issues Research Centre (SIRC). This session will validate the outcomes of the study and consider future areas of activity (policy, practice, standards and/or technology) that might arise in response to the issues raised.
Mike Ellis, Eduserv and Tony Hirst, Open University, "Mashups Round the Edges - What your users will do even if you don't make it easy for them"
In this potentially rather dangerous workshop, we'll show you some of the tricks and tools that your users - and the geek public at large - can use to scrape content and data from your websites and make use of it as they will. The moral? Make it easy for them... then at least they take away valid information and give you a chance to track where it's being used. Demos will include - RSS 101, Yahoo Pipes 101, Screenscraping 101
