Account Manager

Scope:

As a member of the Eduserv Sales Team reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, to:

• Manage the identification, qualification, selection, process and closure of new business from both existing clients and new opportunities.
• Develop and manage relationships with key clients.
• Assist in the marketing and business development activities of Eduserv.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities for this role will include:

• Find, qualify and close new business opportunities.
• Develop and manage relationships with customers and other Eduserv functional teams, to maximise account control, profit and revenue.
• Manage sales pipeline effectively and provide & maintain reliable management information e.g. sales forecasts, account plans.
• Contribute to marketing strategy and assist with events such as exhibitions and conferences.
• Identify, evaluate and control risk throughout the sales cycle.
• Manage proposal documentation and collateral and assist in their preparation where appropriate.
• Assist in the management of the bid process from identification to closure.

Personal Attributes:

• Sufficient gravitas and business awareness to communicate effectively with executive-level customer contacts.
• Enough technical ability to require low levels of technical support during the sales process and to develop the trust of technical managers.
• Successful track record in consultative selling of IT services. Previous experience of public sector sales and Web Application Development, Content Management Systems and managed hosting, is desirable.
• A self-starter and strong team player.
• Good time management skills and an ability to assess priorities and focus on the most important tasks.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
